To the building developer, our energy efficient lighting design provides visual branding to the space resulting in an enhanced customer experience, higher perceived value and a lower annual cost of operation. We are experts in lighting technology and ensure that our specified products meet strict lighting objectives, quality norms, efficiency standards and aesthetic appeal. We lay utmost emphasis in protecting the Architect’s vision and the client’s interests through an independent and un-biased recommendation of light fixtures.

Further, our lighting design goes beyond light planning services provided by luminaire manufacturers. Though Illuminance (lux) planning aids functional tasks, it falls short in the holistic integration of light and architecture. Veda supports Architects from the initial concept stage of the project by articulating light into the architectural fiber of the building and thereby evolving a distinctive character to its form and the space within the building. Our early involvement ensures that the lighting load of the building is reduced to the minimum while enhancing occupant comfort, increasing day lit spaces and meeting sustainability and green building goals.

Our team brings together experts from different backgrounds including architecture, engineering, theatre, and product design. Our years of collective experience allows us to service every aspect of architectural lighting from overall space definition and process illumination to the design of an individual luminaire. PROCESS

Our process is divided into six phases such as

In Stage-1, programming and schematic design phase, we conduct extensive research of the project by site visits, historical and cultural references, geographic influences and the demographic profile of the occupants as well as in the neighboring areas. We then communicate our lighting design concepts to the core architectural team through a variety of visual media, such as hand sketches, photographs, mockups, storyboards, 3D modeling and other visualization techniques. Also, preliminary estimates of the project’s economic metrics such as light fixture cost budgets, efficiency targets and overall sustainability goals are developed.

After the design concept is frozen, in Stage-2, design development and construction documents phase, a definite set of documents are created that includes lighting schedules and load calculations, luminaire specifications, cut sheets of recommended light fixtures, cost budgets and the lighting control drawings.

In the final Stage 3, our team works with the Architect, the contractor and the manufacturers in ensuring the specification integrity of the design. Alternative product submittals, if so recommended by the contractor, are verified for design consistency with the original design intent in performance, aesthetics, life and availability of the product. Further, our designers also ensure that the light fixtures are placed and aimed accurately during the post-occupancy validation process. A punch list is created that record any anomalies in the installation and would recommend corrective measures.
